Child protection program complete its actions
The programme “Protecting children in the context of the refugee and migrant crisis in Europe” funded by DG JUSTICE of the European Commission and implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in cooperation with UNICEF, UNHCR, Save the Children and HCDCP, completed its actions.
The closing ceremony of the program that took place in Italy, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary and Austria, was organized on April 13 at the headquarters of IOM in Alimos.
The objectives of the program were:
- Preventing violence against children.
- Support and empowerment of integrated child protection systems.
- First-line health professionals capacity building and training.
- Updated data collection on the status of refugee children within a common information network.
The event was attended by representatives of the organizations participated in the programme, the Ministry of Immigration Policy and the Monitoring Committee of EU-Turkey Agreement. HCDCP was represented by Chrysa Botsi, head of Moving Populations Office.
