PHILOS programme employees in cooperation with the International Red Cross, held last week an educational programme for children accommodated in the open camp of Alexandria, Imathia.
The programme was attended by over fourteen children, mainly girls from Syria, Iraq and Kuwait, aged one to ten.
The children initially met with their trainees and discussed with them the nutrition issue.
The team dealt with the importance of fruit and vegetables consumption in the daily diet as well as with the appropriate frequency of meals and the nutritional pyramid.
Audiovisual material and food drawings were used to educate children, while participatory techniques were developed as children were able to solve their questions on nutrition and express their standpoint.
PHILOS team consisted of Mrs. Ioanna Patsiouvoura, Anastasia Deligiannaki and Sergiani Bei.
