PHILOS and intercultural nursing

A scientific conference on “Intercultural Nursing: Refugee Management in the hospital” organized by Papageorgiou General Hospital management in collaboration with the Hellenic Center for Disease Control and Prevention (HCDCP) was successfully completed on Wednesday, June 13, at hospital’s amphitheatre.

The program of the conference was developed in six sections, during which HCDCP Vice-President and PHILOS Project Manager, Agis Terzidis, presented the National Action Plan on Refugees and Migrants’ health in Greece.

Subsequently, PHILOS Scientific Officer, Chrysoula Botsi, presented the protocols and material developed during PHILOS implementation, while the Head of PHILOS Subproject II, Kassiani Melou, spoke about good practices, the epidemiological surveillance and the vaccination programme to refugee population.

Finally, the thematic section dedicated to PHILOS was concluded with the presentation of Stephania Moisidou, field coordinator of Diavata’s open camp, on the provision of psychosocial support to refugees / immigrants and her experience on the field.
