Seminar on refugees’ mental health

The Hellenic Centre of Disease Control and Prevention, within the framework of PHILOS programme, welcomed a Médecins Sans Frontières team consisting of psychologists and social workers at a two-day seminar dedicated to the mental health of refugees living in the open camps across the country.

By addressing the emerging needs appeared in the refugee camps, MSF members presented interesting facts from their activities on the field of providing basic health care and mental health support to migrant populations by exchanging good management practices of cases requiring psychosocial intervention.

In the light of the cultural diversity and the modern challenges it recommends, best practices have been sought in order to develop stronger relationships within and outside the refugee camps as well as to better manage vulnerable groups members.
