Training session on refugees’ perinatal care

The Department of Midwifery of Athens University of Applied Sciences in the framework of “ORAMMA: Operational Refugee and Migrant Maternal Approach” programme, organizes a two – day session on “Perinatal Care for Refugees and Migrants” on 26 – 27th of January at Elena Venizelou Maternity Hospital. The event is addressed to midwives, social workers and doctors.

The European research project ORAMMA aims to develop an action framework on safe maternity, on improving the accessibility and provision of perinatal care to women refugees and migrants as well as on their fair treatment within the European Union. The Department of Midwifery is the coordinator of the programme, with the participation of the European Midwives Association as well as of organizations from the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. To achieve this goal, a big number of health professionals are expected to be trained on issues related to the perinatal care of migrant women and refugees.
